It was neat to slowly fill them up, dump them out, and then suddenly feel lighter/feel that tangible weight of all the work you just did.With apples, you picked and emptied pretty fast but careful. Now, peaches were like moving in slow motion. Don't get me started on concord grapes. Good times...sort of I was always a bit too careful lol. Luckily working for friends who didn’t mind. I love concord grapes but couldn’t imagine harvesting a lot of them. At one farm we had pears that were so delicate we would load them right into the padded boxes they were going out in. Gently. They were the tastiest pears of all time. Wish I remembered the variety name.
