When a claim is filed on a package shipped from a UPS Store and the claim in paid, that money comes directly from UPS to the franchise owner who them gives it to the customer. The UPS Store is the middle man and it does help to advocate for customers because we were (rarely) in situations where the claims were wrongfully denied and we fought to get the money for the customer. We installed cameras over everything to prove items weren't damaged at the time of shipment and that items we packaged were packed to UPS standards in accordance with claim policies.
