 I took an AC compressor out of the box a couple months ago, and the Funny Stitch Jedi Master Blood Moon Shirt inlet fitting was smashed to hell. Showed my boss, and he says "didn't you check the box for damage before you left the shop?" The box had no rips or obvious signs of damage. 2 days later, he loads another compressor for me in my van. I look at the box and one side was ripped the fuck open, but the box was still sealed at the top. I asked if he checked it for damage. He says "oh shit, no, open that up and check, I didn't even think about it!" From what I've heard, it's pretty much the same shit in all 3 big box hardware stores so it doesn't really matter. I do commercial av work and have gotten more than 1 very expensive tv delivered with a nice forklift hole through it. I used to be a courier for a big yellow and red company. The way some of these guys load their trucks is truly upsetting. Working in fields dominated by guys is very different from the regular customer service jobs that I was used to.
